Computers:
Boost is designed to run on any PC with: DOS 3.3 or higher; or Windows 95, 98, ME or XP.
Color monitors are recommended since all Boost screens are displayed in color.
A backup system (tape, zip, etc.) is recommended for the back office system.

Printers:
Boost is designed to use standard IBM emulation mode PC printers.
Printers with customized roll stand and paper guides are available from Boost Software.

Surge Protector:
The computer and peripheral equipment should be plugged into a
high quality surge protector to prevent electrical interference from
damaging the computer.

Cash Drawer:
Boost is designed for attaching an electronic cash drawer along with the receipt printer into the same parallel port.
Pre-programmed cash drawers are available from Boost Software.

Barcode - Magnetic Stripe Readers (credit card):
This type of equipment has a wedge that is connected between the keyboard and the keyboard port on the PC. The wedge supports both barcode readers and magnetic stripe (credit card) readers.
Pre-programmed barcode readers and credit card readers are available from Boost Software.

Remote Reader:
Remote readers can be used in Boost to assist in taking physical inventory and for entering missing barcodes when receiving an order. The reader is attached to the COM port for downloading data.

Paper:
Register receipts print on 4 1/2 inch roll paper.
Back office reports print on 9 1/2 x 11 plain continuous paper with removable margins.

Labels:
Inventory and mailing labels print using;
2 1/2" x 15/16" - 3 across, 9 1/2" form width

Envelopes:
Statements fit into standard #10 double window envelopes.
